Book club has been great for me and I appreciate my friend for putting it together.
When I was younger I used to want to be a writer because I read so much.
... Similar to nature vs. nurture (but maybe not really), if you are always around people who do drugs will you eventually do drugs? (even if it's not in your nature).
If you're solely around murderers day in and day out will you eventually commit a murder?
I think yes, until you make the decision to get rid of the drug addicted murderers around you there is only so long you can go before you become the world you have created for yourself (nurture). But doesn't making the decision to stay in this state clearly say something about you? (nature)
The world you create for yourself really is a reflection of you.

He needs to be able to talk to me for hours about abstract things.
He needs to find my lack of knowledge on things like geography and history somewhat comical and not mistake it for lack of intelligence.
I need to love him enough to know he may not ALWAYS be able to fulfill EVERY criteria on my list.

I hate when people are all like "New Year, New Me".
The whole idea of a New Year is solely in our heads. Much like the idea that all of a sudden now is the time that you will make those changes in your life that should have been made months, maybe even years ago, or last year when you made the same resolution.
I'm all for making positive changes, but really? The best motivation you have to better your health, follow your heart, treat someone better, focus on your career, is an imaginary change of time?
We are presented plenty of reasons and opportunities to make changes throughout the year. A "New Year" is never guaranteed.

I hate the, sounds plural, "Pilates", with the singular, "is".

That overwhelming feeling of appreciation I have when someone is talented enough to capture in words, or in a tv show, or a movie, or of course a song, a feeling I am currently or have at some point felt.
It's the same reason even hearing a diagnosis is relieving, it means you aren't the only one.
